Automatically tag YouTube videos with the channel name/creator.

Recall does this sometimes, but it is not consistent and in my experience does not happen most of the time. It would be nice if this happened consistently so that every video that is saved automatically has a "YouTube | [Channel Name]" as one of the tags.

This makes sense. Creator/channel name feels like useful metadata that should be captured consistently, especially for YouTube-heavy knowledge bases. We’ll look into how reliably we can detect and apply this. Curious: would you prefer these as normal editable tags, or as separate source metadata that can also be filtered/searchable?

Sankari Nair I think it is better to have it separate? To have it as tags clogs up the system and when it is metadata I think it is easier to retroactivly add this to older cards.

Sankari Nair Not sure. As of right now I do it manually. For every video I save, the first tag I use is YouTube/[Channel Name], followed by whatever other tags that are relevant. I do this so if I can't remember keywords for the video title, description, or topic, but I remember the channel it was on, I can go straight to the YouTube folder and find it manually. Sometimes this is faster for me given the volume of information I save. As long as I can do this, whether it is with traditional tags or with some other metadata identifier, I am okay with it. I'd likely have to use the alternative to see what I prefer.

twan This is a good point. As of right now the largest pool of tags I have definitely goes to channels.
